What is the Cornellbox? |
The Cornellbox is probably the most well known simple test scene for
testing global illumination renders for more information and history about the Cornellbox we recommend
reading the information on this page |
What does it mean this is free? |
It means this plug-in is free for usage for commercial and non-commercial purposes no royalties have
to be paid to anyone. |
Will there be a version for other 3D modelling packages? |
Currently there are no versions planed for other 3D modelling packages simply because we can not afford
all the 3D packages out there. But if you want to provide us a free copy including a SDK we might reconsider it. |
Aha but what about Blender? (That is free) |
We might consider a version for Blender in the future as soon as we found out how that god damn
user interface is supposed to work. |
Which render plug-ins do you support? |
In theory all 3D Studio compatible render plug-ins should work with the Cornellbox generator. Although we
do not take advantage of any of their special material shader nodes (yet). But since you are free to apply your materials
to any of the geometry we do not see this as a limitation. We have only tested and rendered scenes successfully with
Mental Ray, Max build-in and ART VPS' RenderPipe so far. |
Which version of 3D Studio Max do you support? |
The current build has been tested on Max8 but should also run in Max6&7. A future Max9 (64bit) version might
